A specimen of blue peacock fern, Osmundicaulis from
Lune River. Chalcedony infiltration of the spaces surrounding
vascular tissue.
Reverse applique and piecing. Hand dyes and commercial
cottons with wool wadding, rayon and metallic threads.
The Earthskin series
Animals and plants once living are laid down as rock
to give us evidence of this country's past history.
I am interested in patterning in ways that are not usually
accessed by quiltmakers. All fossils used in the work
are Australian. For the Twist Exhibition, curated by
Dijanne Cevaal, 2001.
