Mapped

The middens still glow in the distance, but now the bleached shells take on the purpose of trig points, and the grid in the background implies mapping. Archaeology uses layering and the classification of shells in the middens to map the ancient aboriginal history of Australia, gilding what might have been originally simply a dump for rubbish with intent and purpose.
