I made the image of the Pinnacles in Western Australia first. I had intended to simply put two borders around it and quilt it so that it looked like a framed picture when hung on a wall.

However - I realised that when we put a picture on a wall in our house we give ourselves a place to go to when we are dreaming. We frequently select things nearby to go with the painting, and perhaps the painting is chosen for the room, or the room painted to suit the painting.

I decided to make the wall to put the painting on.
